HEMA’s Dutch perspective on daily living makes our range unique. We try to be of value to every customer. We have our own designers who make our products distinctive and recognisable with unbeatable designs that are more practical, more attractive and simply better. We offer products that make you happy – designed with love so that others can share this love. We also want to make products that last longer. That’s why we are making a deliberate choice for quality and are moving away from a throwaway society. By making this choice, we are helping our customers make their daily lives more sustainable.
Since February 2021, HEMA has been owned by the Dutch corporations, Mississippi Ventures and Parcom. During the coming years, we will invest in our stores and online platforms to offer customers the same positive experience everywhere. We will focus on our core countries: the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France.

HEMA has more than 740 stores and three distribution centres. The HEMA head office is located in Amsterdam. Our total workforce numbers more than 17,000 and we are active in the Netherlands (since 1926), Belgium (since 1984), Germany (since 2002), Luxembourg (since 2006), France (since 2009) and Austria (since 2018). In the Netherlands, approximately 250 HEMA stores are operated as franchises. We also have a few HEMA stores in the Middle East and in Mexico. These are also shops run by companies with whom HEMA has a franchise agreement.

HEMA’s Management Team is responsible for the day-to-day running of the company and consists of the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Customer Officer, Chief Product Officer, Chief Technology Officer, Chief Operations Officer and Chief People Officer.
HEMA’s Board of Directors is the statutory board of managers of HEMA BV and consists of the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
HEMA’s Supervisory Board is tasked with overseeing and advising the Board of Directors in its management duties. The interests of the company are the Supervisory Board’s prime concern.
