HEMA launches Christmas commercial: ‘The most beautiful thing you can give is love’
This Christmas, HEMA and Hotel L’Amour are releasing a new commercial featuring the beloved Takkie and Siepie. This year, one message takes center stage: doing something for someone else. Because the most beautiful thing you can give is love. The commercial is set in a children’s hospital, where a young girl spends the night alone and longs for snow. Takkie and Siepie make her wish come true and bring just that little bit of magic so characteristic of the holiday season. Through this story, HEMA aims not only to move people, but also to truly make a difference for children who need extra love and attention. That is why HEMA is linking a nationwide donation initiative to the Christmas campaign, in collaboration with Fiep Amsterdam and Singel Publishers/Querido.
Donation per plush toy sold
Together with Fiep Amsterdam and Singel Publishers/Querido, HEMA will donate one euro for every Takkie or Siepie plush toy sold to the Stichting Kinderziekenhuizen van Oranje (Orange Children’s Hospitals Foundation). This foundation represents six academic children’s hospitals in the Netherlands and is committed to the mental health of seriously ill children. The donation campaign runs from December 6 until Christmas.
Love for everyone
“Last year, with Takkie and Siepie, we showed that happiness often lies in small things,” says Anouk van Mierlo, senior campaign manager at HEMA. “This year, we’re going one step further: doing something for someone else and making that truly tangible. Because the most beautiful thing we can give during the holidays is love.”
